Recent News from in and around the A XV Squad
The A XV looks forward to another prosperous 2010/11 Season after 3 years on consistent promotion. Led by Stuart Mills for the last two years who has now found himself more often than not wearing a 1st Xv shirt, Ed Bartlett now takes over the reigns.
The Picture below shows a tired A XV after a hard fought game last season against Old Wimbledonian Rams.
Next year the A XV are playing in the highest 2nd Team leagues they can play; The Rugby Tech league (12 games) and London South Reserve League Surrey league (14 games).
The AXV has a new skipper this year and Ed Bartlett is stepping into some rather large size 9s courtesy of the outgoing Stuart Mills and his predecessor Chris Morgan. The A XV are going to be playing in not one but two leagues this year, namely the London 2 Reserve League and the Rugby Tech League 4th Division. The standard of the rugby is undoubtedly going to be a step up again from the Surrey Premier League where the side narrowly missed out on silverware finishing second to a strong London Welsh side whose only two league defeats last year were to Old Reigatians. Ably assisted by Team Manager James Snelling the side is hoping to play attractive, hard rugby with a bit of champagne along the way! The opposition this year include Chobham, Cobham, London Irish, Haywards Heath and the highlight will undoubtedly be the mini-tour away trip to play Bournemouth RFC...So if you are keen to join the most successful Old Reigatians side of the last 4 seasons then get in touch with myself ebartlett@cbsbutler.com or James Snelling js@apollomam.co.uk - we look forward to hearing from and playing with you!
