Welcome to the home of the Old Reigatian 1st XV and the 2010 - 2011 season. This, our 83rd season, will mark another tunring point in the club when we move into our "new home".
It has been a long wait however when the day finally comes it will be momentous and a turning point in the history of this famous club.Not only does the 2010 / 2011 season mark a major turning point off the pitch, but on it as well. We move back to London 2 South West after a couple of seasons in London 2 South East having been “level transferred” and we introduce a new coaching team.
COACHING STAFF
Phil Williams steps into the Head Coach role vacated by Dave Wiggins departure at the end of last season. Phil brings with him a new "young" approach with a wealth of championship rugby experience having played at Exeter and Plymouth Albion.
We are delighted to welcome Steve Wagstaff to the club as Assistant Coach. Steve will be well known to many of you as prior to joining Reigatians he was Head Coach at local rivals Warlingham. Steve is very well respected within Surrey and the south London area and also coaches within the Surrey County set up.
We are also delighted to welcome Alan Reid onto the coaching staff this year. Up until this year Alan was Director of Sport at Reigate Grammar School where he had taught for almost forty, yes, forty years! Alan has extensive knowledge of rugby and is involved in the coaching teams at Harlequins Academy and within the London and South East Junior setup. Alan will fulfil a assistant / development coaching role with a skills based focus.
We believe that our coaching set up is one of the strongest in the area and we welcome success both on and off the field for the coming season.
THE NEW SEASON
With the new coaching team and the new facilities, progress is expected this season. We are a club with goals and aspirations of success. A breath of fresh air is sweeping through the club and we predict exciting times ahead.
To that end we welcome any player or supporter, young or old to visit the club and enjoy themselves.
