Development Update

Car Park

Due to the continuing construction work at ORRFC the car park will be totally closed for use from Sunday 13th June until further notice. The current clubhouse is being demolished week commencing 14th June and the area will then be graded and resurfaced.

Old Clubhouse

Thanks to the sterling work of a handful of workers the clubhouse was cleared in a weekend. Stantons reported that they were 'amazed' at the clearance!

Particular thanks are due to Kevin Sheldrick and Mark Mendoza who planned the clearance and to Ian Marks who kept the workers suitably refreshed.

It is now time to say goodbye to the old:

New Clubhouse

With the evolution of a brand new £2.5 million Clubhouse, alongside the fantastically newly levelled first XV team pitch, times are proving to be incredibly exciting at the Club. The jointly funded construction, by the Peter Harrison Foundation and the National Sports Fund with Sport England, will provide one of the best new facilities in the region and give the highest standard of accommodation for players, members and visitors, alike.  Our sincere gratitude must go to our Club President, Mr Peter Harrison, for his committment and work on this project.

The new Clubhouse, project managed by architects Brooks & Ware LLP, will provide 6 changing rooms (male and female), with space for up to 20 players in each. There will be changing rooms for officials, a dedicated ‘therapy' room and a fully equipped gym, available to all members. The upstairs clubroom will house up to 300 people, offering extensive bar and catering facilities and provide spectacular raised views over the pitches and the North Downs, from the large balconied area. There will also be a smaller bar room, off the main clubroom and in the vaulted Oak frame roof there is space for a discreet meeting room, with side access, for minimal disruption to the main areas. Exciting times, indeed.

1st XV Pitch

The 1st XV pitch has now been levelled, banked and re-sown to create improved playing and spectator viewing not only on the east side but particularly from the clubhouse balcony. Those who have watched the pitch develop will have been impressed with these improvements, as the below picture highlights:
